Newborn sessions are a wonderful way to celebrate a brand new baby's arrival. Whether it's the first born or the fifth, nothing is more magical than a sweet little bundle of joy. I offer a style of newborn sessions called lifestyle newborn photography. These sessions are offered in client homes, but also in my Wilbraham, MA studio. While most newborn photography is done in-studio in a controlled environment with controlled studio lighting, lifestyle sessions are more focused on candid, natural moments. They focus on both the newborn and the family. We do a lot of guided posing in a natural environment.
Flexiblity
One of my favorite parts of lifestyle newborn photography is the flexibility it offers. These sessions do not need to take place within the first two weeks. I've done lifestyle "newborn" sessions at six months! Since these sessions are most focused on capturing life during these early days, there is no timeline. They take place in the comfort of your home. Don't worry about the mess. It's REAL and I love it. If you'd rather come to the studio, that's ok too! With the large windows and tons of natural light in my studio, we are still able to capture these sweet, authentic moments.
The Little Details...
I was recently looking back at pictures of my son's nursery. I had taken a photo of his little dragonfly wall hangings. I had forgotten we did a dragonfly theme in his room! Lifestyle newborn sessions capture all the little details. From those tiny toes to nursery decor, it's about remembering those precious little things. Those first few months are a blur. I promise one day you'll look back at that image of your baby's mobile and cherish it!
Siblings
This might be my personal favorite. I love capturing the natural interactions between brand new siblings. Such sweetness! These shots range from downright beautiful to absolutely hilarious. Sessions will include both guided candids and gentle prompts. I also like to sit back and capture the organic moments that are sure to happen as well.
Real Moments
This is what it's all about. As I went through past newborn sessions and gathered the images for this post, I reflected on how lucky I am to have the privilege of capturing these memories for the clients I love so much. I LOVE what I do and am always happy to gush about it! If you have any questions about booking a newborn session, just ask. <3
