The first birthday cake smash is one of my favorite milestones to photograph. I've been doing them for several years now and despite what you've seen and heard, not every baby joyfully smashes their cake to smithereens. In my experience, most birthday babies cautiously poke at their first birthday cake, carefully tasting the frosting, making sure mom is OK with it. It's incredibly adorable, but I had been longing for a cake smash baby to come into my studio and DIG IN. Well, that day finally came when Mr. Noah arrived for his first birthday cake smash shoot. 

He arrived at my Wilbraham studio with his family: mom, dad, and big sister Scarlet. I had been photographing this family for years and was thrilled to see them again! Just in case you were wondering, Scarlet was one of those dainty cake smashers, so sweet and neat! I encourage families to bring the whole crew to a cake smash. The interactions we captured between big sister and little brother were so adorable. They ended the session by feeding each other cake. Priceless!
